*A vehicle stop on 08/01/13, at about 6:00p.m. resulted in the arrest of the driver, Joseph Jiannoni. During the course of the stop the officer learned that Jiannoni was wanted on a warrant which had been issued by Sangamon County Authorities.
*Officers responded to an address on Woodhaven Drive, Springfield, to take a burglary to vehicle report on 08/07/13.The victim reported that while his vehicle was parked in the Rochester High School parking lot someone threw a brick through one of the windows.The suspect then entered the vehicle and took about $40 from the center console area.
*A resident in the Grove Park Subdivision contacted the police on 08/22/13, at about 3:00p.m. in reference to a disturbance that had occurred.The officers were told a juvenile subject who resides at the residence had battered two other family members.Prior to leaving the residence, officers made arrangements for another family member who resides elsewhere to come get the juvenile suspect. A referral report has been sent to the juvenile authorities.
*Tasha Tirpak, of Taylorville, was stopped on 08/24/13, at about11:55p.m. During the stop the officer was informed that Tirpak was allegedly driving on a suspended driver’s license.
*At approximately 4:15a.m. on 08/25/13, a Rochester officer was dispatched to a residence in the Oak Hills Subdivision in reference to a suicidal subject. The complainant had reported to dispatch that a family member was intoxicated and was threatening to kill himself. The complainant also told dispatch that the subject was looking in the residence for a gun. The officer arrived in the subdivision and proceeded towards the residence. As he neared the residence he observed a male subject in a driveway carrying a handgun. The officer made contact with the subject and began instructing the subject to put down the gun. After several minutes of dialogue between the two, the subject eventually put the gun down. He was taken into custody and transported to the hospital.
*On 08/28/13, at about 8:45a.m., officers were sent to the Principal’s office at the Rochester High School. Officers arrived and were told by school administrators that several students had been taken out of class as it appeared they were under the influence of drugs. After discussing the situation with school authorities and the students, it was learned that the students had been smoking marijuana prior to entering school. Two of the students admitted to having marijuana in a vehicle which was parked in the school lot and another student admitted he had a small amount of marijuana in his pocket. All three students were taken into custody and transported to the police station. The incident has been referred to the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office.
