*It appears sometime between 11/02/14, and 11/07/14, a coin operated soda machine was broken into on more than one occasion with approximately $400 having been stolen. The machine is located on the sidewalk just outside of the businesses in the 100 block of South John Street.
*An officer was dispatched to Rochester High School on 11/05/14, at about 3:00p.m. He met with a school administrator who had a juvenile student in the office. During a search of the student school administrators had discovered what appeared to be marijuana along with other drug related items. A report documenting the incident was forwarded to the juvenile authorities.
*A vehicle which had no operational taillights was stopped on 11/08/14, at about 6:15p.m. During the course of the stop, the officer learned that the driver of the vehicle, Fred Lomprez of Springfield, was allegedly driving on a suspended license.
*A vehicle parked at a residence in the 100 block of Deercreek was damaged sometime on 11/09/14. The victim stated when he went outside his residence on 11/10/14, he noticed the rear window had been shattered. Damage was estimated at $500.
*Officers took a Residential Burglary report from a resident in the Woodlands Subdivision on 11/09/14. The report indicates the suspect(s) entered the residence by forcing open a door on the lower level. A large amount of cash was stolen from the residence. The scene was processed by a crime scene technician. The report indicates the investigation is continuing.
*A resident of the 300 block of Park Street reported a bicycle theft on 11/17/14. She told police her daughter’s bicycle had been stolen sometime on 11/16/14. The bike was described as a black Dual Suspension Gauntlet valued at $100.
*On 11/17/14, an officer noticed a vehicle travelling northbound on Route 29 with a registration sticker which had expired in 201l. The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Kristen Schattschneider of Springfield. She received multiple citations and had her vehicle towed from the scene.
*On 11/19/14, at approximately 1:00p.m. officers responded to an address in the 100 block of Deercreek in reference to a disturbance. The owner of the residence called police and reported that another family member was out of control damaging property in the house. Officers arrived and removed the juvenile family member from the residence. He was brought to the police department where alternative living arrangements were developed. A report has been forwarded to the Sangamon County Juvenile Authorities.
*According to police reports, Candy Scott-Florey of Cowden was stopped on 11/20/14, at about 10:00a.m. She was arrested for allegedly driving on a revoked driver’s license.
*An officer reported clocking a vehicle travelling 68 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone at about 1:20a.m., on 11/21/14. He further reported the driver was having difficulty keeping the vehicle in his own lane of travel nearly striking the curb on the edge of the road. An investigation into the stop resulted in the driver of the vehicle, Reginald Britton of Edinburg, being arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was issued several citations prior to being taken to the Sangamon County Jail.
*A vehicle being driven by John Manning of Taylorville was stopped on 11/21/14, at about 9:00p.m. During the stop, the officer learned Manning had a valid driver’s license issued out of California, but had an Illinois license which came back as revoked. He was issued citations for allegedly driving on a revoked license and operating a vehicle without insurance.
*On 11/22/14, at 7:30p.m., a vehicle being driven by Kari Everist of Springfield was stopped. Everist was issued a citation for allegedly driving on a suspended license.
*Alethea Toney, of Bellwood, was stopped by an officer on 11/23/14, at 6:30p.m. The report indicates the officer had clocked a vehicle Toney was driving at 74 miles per hour in a 55 zone. During the stop, the officer was notified that Toney’s driver’s license was suspended and she was wanted on a warrant which had been issued by Tazewell County authorities. Toney was arrested and taken to the Sangamon County Jail.
*A theft of an IPhone was reported to the police on 11/26/14. The victim stated her phone had been stolen from the high school sometime after school ended on 11/25/14. She set her phone on a table while attending a practice and when she went to retrieve the item it was gone. The IPhone was valued at $800.
