Rochester Police Beat July and August 2020

On July 3rd, Dalynn Scott of Cahokia was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

On July 4th, James McFarland of Stockton, CA was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license suspended and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. McFarland was also wanted on a warrant which he was subsequently arrested and transported to the Sangamon County Jail. A valid driver picked the vehicle up from the scene.

Danielle Moffitt of Taylorville was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license suspended on July 7th. A valid driver picked her up from the scene.

Caleb Stone of Tovey was stopped on July 8th and arrested for a Christian County Warrant for fleeing and eluding. Stone was transported to the Sangamon County Jail.

A resident reported that sometime between June 23rd and June 30th the catalytic converter had been taken out of his RV. The incident is pending investigation.

Alexus Gibson of Edinburg was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license suspended on July 14th. A valid passenger drove from the scene.

On July 26th, the department was alerted of a senior citizen who had been missing for over 3 hours. A search was conducted with the assistance of the Rochester Fire Department. She was eventually located by one of the Fire Department’s volunteers and given first aid on scene. She was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.

Alic Vandermaiden of Taylorville was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license suspended on July 27th. Valid drivers picked Vandermaiden and his vehicle up from the scene.

On July 31st, Steve Reese of Taylorville was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license revoked. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Alphonso Logan of Springfield was stopped and cited for allegedly driving with no license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle on August 2nd.

On August 5th, Jason King of Taylorville was cited for allegedly driving while license revoked. A valid driver transported King and his vehicle from the scene.

A stop was conducted on a vehicle observed speeding on August 6th. A search conducted on the vehicle revealed several items of contraband and cannabis. The driver was issued a citation for the unlawful possession of cannabis and a written warning for the speed.

On August 13th, a stop was conducted on a vehicle when the registered owner, Mary Frank of Sandoval, showed as having a warrant out of Sangamon County. Mary Frank was not the driver but was in the passenger seat. The driver, Jesse Frank, was revealed to have a revoked driver’s license. Jesse Frank was issued a citation for allegedly driving while license revoked. Mary Frank was arrested for the warrant and transported to the Sangamon County Jail.

Dannie Crowe of Springfield was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle on August 13th.

A stop conducted on August 6th for a headlight violation revealed the driver didn’t have a valid license. Larry Williams of Springfield was issued a citation for allegedly driving without a valid license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. A written warning was issued for the alleged headlight violation.

On August 16th, Jesse Lacy of Springfield was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. A valid driver picked Lacy up from the scene.

Trista Corso of Springfield was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license suspended on August 25th. A valid driver picked Corso up from the scene.

On August 27th, an officer responded to an accident on Route 29 at W. Main. The brakes on a Moped allegedly went out and the driver was unable to stop. He collided with the rear of a pickup truck that had been stopped at the intersection for a red light. The driver refused medical treatment. During the accident investigation, it was revealed that the driver’s license was revoked. Matthew Cunningham of Mount Auburn was issued citations for allegedly driving on a revoked license, no proof of insurance and failure to reduce speed causing an accident. The driver of the pickup truck transported Cunningham and his moped from the scene.

On August 29th, Christopher Childress of Springfield was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license revoked. A valid driver picked Childress up from the scene.
