Last Monday, March 14, 2011, Sergeant Kent Bragg unveiled the department’s newest award, the Physical Readiness Initiative for Developing Excellence, or P.R.I.D.E. ribbon.
This award is presented to members of the department who have earned an overall percentage of 80% or higher on the Cooper Aerobics physical fitness scale. This percentage indicates that officers are in better shape than 80% of people world-wide who fall under the same age demographic. Those officers who earn a 90% or higher are authorized to wear a silver star in the center of the P.R.I.D.E. ribbon.
The officers who were recognized last Monday for scoring in the 80%-89% for their age demographic and are authorized to wear the P.R.I.D.E. ribbon were Corporal Schwartz, Officer Stoll, Officer Harris, and Officer Sommer. Chief Marass and Sergeant Bragg scored within the 90%-99% for their age demographic and are authorized to wear the ribbon with a silver star.
