Aubrey Davidson of Mechanicsburg was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license is suspended on May 21st. A valid driver drove from the scene.
Brittney Byars of Springfield was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license is suspended on May 21st.
Ashley Buscher of Pawnee was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license suspended on May 22nd.
Jordan Watts of Springfield was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license is suspended on May 23rd. A valid driver drove from the scene.
Sunshine Card of Assumption was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license is revoked on May 27th. Card was also cited for allegedly operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
An officer made a warrant arrest on June 3rd during a stop for a registration light violation. Ravyn England of Taylorville was arrested for the Sangamon County Warrant for failure to appear on DUI charges. She was transported to the Sangamon County Jail.
On June 4th at approximately 11:00 am, an officer was contacted by an individual reference a theft. Between the hours of 8:00 am and 11:00 am, an unknown individual allegedly stole a pole-saw out of the back of the individual’s pickup truck. An investigation led to the Identification of a suspect. The suspect, Tomas Hewitt Jr. of Rochester, confessed to stealing the saw and has been charged for the alleged felony theft.
On June 4th an officer was contacted in regards to a suspicious vehicle. The officer made contact with the driver who was “rolling a blunt”. A search of the vehicle located hypodermic needles and syringes, which the individual admitted were used to inject heroin. A cigarillo filled with a green leafy substance and other paraphernalia were also recovered. Corey Knox of Springfield was charged with the alleged possession of a controlled substance and possession of hypodermic needles and syringes. Knox’s was given the opportunity to call for a ride. When the driver showed up it was determined she was wanted on a warrant from Menard County. Kayla Rowland from Springfield was arrested for the warrant and transported to the Sangamon County Jail. A valid driver picked Knox up from the scene.
David Sirtout of Edinburg was stopped and cited for allegedly driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle on June 5th.
An officer initiated a stop for a registration light violation on June 6th. Jason Reber of Springfield was issued a citation for allegedly driving on a cancelled license and a written warning for no registration light.
On June 11th, David Schafer of Petersburg was stopped and cited for allegedly driving on a cancelled driver’s license.
On June 11th, an officer was informed about an individual who had cashed several fraudulent checks. The individual had been arrested by the Litchfield Police Department and transported to the Montgomery County Jail after attempting to cash another check at their local bank branch. Bryant Melton Jr. of Indianapolis, IN was charged from Sangamon County for the alleged forgery and deceptive practices.
An officer conducted a stop for speed on June 15th. During the stop it was revealed that Dayne Lowe of Riverton had a revoked driver’s license. Lowe was issued a citation for allegedly driving while license revoked and issued a warning for the speed.
On June 17th an officer observed a vehicle stopped at traffic light begin to roll across the stop line. The driver’s eyes were drooped and her head was down. The vehicle didn’t have taillights or a registration light. After a stop was conducted and it was determined the individual was not in a health crisis, the officer noticed a syringe cap on the driver’s seat. The individual admitted it was not for medical use. A search revealed several hypodermic syringes, a spoon with residue and burn marks, and a small clear plastic baggy containing a white powder. The white substance tested positive for methamphetamine. Julianna Scott of Taylorville was arrested for allegedly possessing a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment. Scott was issued warnings for allegedly driving without a taillight and registration light.
An officer was dispatched to assist Sangamon County for a person with a weapon call on June 23rd. The subject was allegedly striking a vehicle with a baseball bat. The officers arrived on scene and noticed several dents and broken windows on the vehicle. When officer’s attempted to talk with the subject he became increasingly agitated. The subject attempted to gain entry into the room where the bat and several other weapons were located. He allegedly pushed through two officers knocking them over before being tased. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation with no further incidents.
During a traffic stop for speed, it was discovered the driver’s license was suspended on June 23rd. Deontay Ettress of Springfield was cited for the alleged suspension and issued a warning for the speed.
