*Officers were contacted on 08/03/16, and told a male subject had repeatedly violated a valid order of protection by attempting to contact the petitioner. Officers eventually located the male subject identified as Bradley Vose and he was arrested for the alleged violations.
*A stop of a vehicle on 08/06/16, at about 5:30p.m., resulted in the arrest of the driver, John Stivers of Pana. The officer reported Stivers was allegedly driving on a suspended license.
*An anonymous complaint was received on 08/07/16, reference a resident who was raising chickens on their property. An officer spoke to the resident and informed them this was a village ordinance violation. The resident, who was not aware of the ordinance, stated she would locate a new place for the chickens. The police department has received several calls this past month from other residents who have asked about the possibility of raising chickens while living in the village. The current village ordinance states, “no person shall keep within the village any cattle, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, or other livestock.”
*A vehicle stop made on 08/12/16, at about 9:30p.m., resulted in the arrest of the driver for allegedly driving while his license was suspended. The driver, who was identified as Dalton Felber, was stopped while travelling near the intersection of Mill and Pleasant. He was ticketed for the reported violation.
*A resident in the 500 block of Sattley Street reported she had over $500 in jewelry stolen from her home. The incident was reported on 08/15/16, but it appears the jewelry may have been stolen sometime in July of 2016. There were no signs that the house was ever broken into and burglarized. The victim did mention there have been several people working in the house throughout the past month.
*An officer was sent to an apartment in the 100 block of Mill Street on 08/14/16, at about 11:00p.m. A resident of the apartment complex told the officer she went outside at about 10:00p.m., when she heard a loud crackling noise coming from an area where she had parked her car. She discovered the rear window to her vehicle had been struck and had shattered. Damage was estimated at $400.
*On 08/22/16, a vehicle being driven by Rachel Neece of Kincaid was stopped at about 12:00p.m. During the course of the stop, the officer was advised that Neece was wanted on a warrant which had been issued by Sangamon County authorities. She was arrested and taken to the Sangamon County Jail.
*Multiple officers were sent to a report of a disturbance occurring at a business in the 300 block of East Main on 08/25/16, at 7:30p.m. The officers reported the owner of the business called because a customer was creating a scene. The customer reportedly began arguing with employees, threatened the owner, and then left before police arrived. The complainant wanted the employee served notice he was not to return to the property.
*Alexandria Otey, of Taylorville, was reportedly stopped on 08/25/16, at 12:45a.m. Otey was cited for allegedly driving while her license was suspended and driving without proof of insurance.
*Officers were sent to the 400 block of Park Street reference a domestic disturbance on 09/05/16, at about 10:00p.m. When they tried to speak with the male subject, identified as Kyle Raufer of Springfield, the report indicates he became angry and began yelling at the officers. He allegedly struck one of the officers resulting in his arrest for Aggravated Battery.
*On 09/07/16, at about 9:30a.m., a vehicle being driven by Richard Williams of Springfield was stopped for an alleged expired license plate. Williams received citations for the reported registration violation and for allegedly driving on a suspended license.
*An officer was sent to the 300 block of Mill Street in reference to an animal problem on 09/15/16, at 4:00p.m. The complainant stated to the officer that the neighbor’s dogs had attacked his dog causing injuries to his dog. The caller’s dog had a small laceration to the belly. The neighbor was cited for a violation of the animal ordinance.
*A vehicle being driven by Jesse Cody of Springfield was stopped on 09/17/16, at 8:25p.m. The report indicates the vehicle was stopped as it matched the description of a vehicle which had been used in a felony theft which occurred in Christian County. After being ticketed for allegedly driving on a suspended license, Cody and his passenger were arrested by authorities from Christian County.
*On 09/22/16, at 9:45p.m., officers made contact with Rachel Cooke of Springfield. Officers had been informed that Cooke had a valid warrant for her arrest which had been issued by authorities from Arizona. Cooke was arrested and taken to the Sangamon County Jail.
*A criminal damage to property and theft report was taken on 09/24/16, at about 9:00a.m. Unknown suspects had gone into one of the wash bays at Jostes Car Wash and broke into the coin machine. The suspects damaged the machine and stole the coin box. The owner estimated his loss at $200.
Later the same day the victim contacted the police with information reference the suspects. The police eventually made contact with the suspects who admitted to the damage and returned several pieces of property. The victim decided to have the subjects pay the $200 in restitution rather than pursuing charges.
